GH2 receives the support from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region for its decarbonized hydrogen production plant project on the industrial terminal of the port of Bordeaux.

GH2, a company specializing in the production of decarbonized hydrogen and its derivatives, is pleased to announce that it has received a support letter from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region for its electrochemical plant project located on the Ambès peninsula, near Bordeaux.

GH2's Ambès plant is the first plant in France to produce large-scale decarbonized hydrogen valued as ammonia, a strategic input for the agricultural sector, and a future e-fuel for energy transition, particularly in the maritime transport sector. This production will be based partly on renewable electricity and partly on low-carbon electricity from the French grid. It will thus contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the fight against climate change.

The support of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region is a strong signal for GH2. It demonstrates the importance local production of decarbonized hydrogen and its derivatives for the agricultural sector and the enabling of the energy transition. It testifies to local recognition and support for an innovative national and European reindustrialization project, which will contribute significantly to emissions reduction.

"We are very grateful to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region through its president, Mr. Alain Rousset, for their support for the GH2 Ambès project (Download the support letter). We are convinced that our project will effectively contribute to the emergence of a French and European renewable and decarbonized hydrogen sector, through innovative reindustrialization of our economy. GH2 plant project in Ambès will create local, sustainable and specialized jobs. It positions France as one of the first European movers of decarbonized hydrogen production at scale" said GH2 President, Mr. Franck Chessé.

GH2 will continue to work closely with regional authorities and industrial partners to consolidate the project's development and achieve its ambitious goals for decarbonized hydrogen production.

About GH2:

With a growing portfolio of projects, GH2 has been structuring and developing renewable energy assets and electrochemical facilities for the production, use and valorization of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen for 5 years. The GH2 portfolio consists of projects ranging from 10 MW to 5 GW located in Europe and North Africa. GH2's mission is to provide e-fuels and green molecules that meet the strictest quality standards at a competitive price as a sustainable solution to meet the needs of industry and mobility.
